New "browser" increases porn site traffic
Cyber criminals are getting craftier it seems. Now they are distributing what they claim is a free web browser, which people can use to disguise the fact that they have been visiting pornographic websites.
According to Panda software, a security firm, the web browser is in reality what is known as a "click fraud system". Apparently this "browser", which is known as Browsezilla actually installs software onto the user's PC that can connect to adult websites. The user cannot see the webpages while the browser is connected and therefore has no idea what is happening. This is all done to increase traffic to the websites.
According to the Browsezilla website the software "don't save URL", "don't use history", and "don't save cache". What it does do is make provision for users to save any bookmarks they may have on an outside server.
When Browsezilla heard about Panda's claims they responded by saying that the data is "false and puts the serious loss to reputation of our browser, and also puts the financial losses connected with significant reduction number of users, number of potential users and refusal of other sites in cooperation".
Currently they are demanding compensation from Panda. Read the original article here
